Commissioning of a Waterjet Cutting System

Aiterhofen,

In mid-June, the newly acquired i-cut P50 waterjet cutting system from TeenKing was put into operation at RK-tec in Aiterhofen. The system has a working range of 3,000 x 1,500 mm and can cut a wide variety of materials—such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, plastics, glass, Plexiglas, etc.—up to a thickness of more than 100 mm. Waterjet cutting technology offers several advantages over laser cutting: it allows for the processing of a much wider variety of materials, including thicker ones, and does not cause thermal stress, discoloration, or residual stress in the material.
