On Thursday afternoon, the board of the Bavarian Metalworking Trade Association visited RK-tec Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG in Aiterhofen. Richard Klostermeier, owner and managing director of RK-tec and also a board member in his capacity as District Guild Master of Lower Bavaria, had invited his fellow board members—led by State Guild Master Detlef Lurz—to a tour of the facility ahead of the fall board meeting scheduled for the weekend in Plattling. It was particularly gratifying that other distinguished guests—including State Parliament Member Josef Zellmeier, Aiterhofen’s mayor Adalbert Hösl, and Martin Köck, economic affairs officer for the Straubing-Bogen district—had also accepted the invitation.
At a standing reception, Richard Klostermeier and his wife Anja warmly welcomed the visitors. Following this, the guests were given an overview of the company, its service portfolio, and its continuous development since its founding in 2006 during a company presentation. The subsequent constructive exchange between the association representatives and political leaders was clearly of great importance to all participants. State Representative Josef Zellmeier, Adalbert Hösl, and Martin Köck gratefully acknowledged the concerns raised and promised to advocate for the association representatives’ interests to the best of their ability.
Over appetizers and drinks, numerous conversations took place in a relaxed atmosphere before the visit concluded with an informative tour of the company, after which the association representatives set off for Plattling to attend their board meeting. Hosts and guests agreed that the event was a complete success and that, in particular, the direct exchange between the association and policymakers is an important component of democratic processes, bringing the needs and concerns of the association’s members directly to the attention of those in power.
