On the scene were the Aiterhofen Volunteer Fire Department and the Ittling fire squad from the Straubing Volunteer Fire Department, with approximately 40 firefighters. Particularly impressive were the professionalism with which the volunteer firefighters set to work and the perfectly rehearsed procedures, which gave spectators a sense of just how much effort is required to be ready for a wide variety of emergencies every day.
Our deepest respect goes not only to the firefighters from Aiterhofen and Ittling. Hats off to your achievements and your skills—which we hope you’ll never have to put to use here.
It goes without saying that the “unconscious” dummy was rescued unharmed from the “burning” company building. Still, that was reason enough to wrap up the successful drill with a hearty snack.
